Today is Stress Awareness Day, and honestly, I’ve been feeling stress more intensely than ever lately. Since leaving my corporate job, I haven’t had a steady income stream, and while I’m incredibly excited to be building my own business, I’m also realizing the financial reality. 💼

I’ve been putting everything I have into The Baker’s Business Lab, knowing it’s going to pay off down the road, but right now, that payoff isn’t immediate. So, I found myself doing everything I could think of to bring in extra money—selling clothes, books, and housewares on platforms like Mercari and Poshmark.

My home has way too much stuff, and I know my day-to-day life (especially managing ADHD) will be a lot smoother if my space is more organized. But selling online is way more time-consuming than I expected—between setting prices low enough to sell and getting barely any return, it was adding more stress than it was worth. And then, there’s the search for a ‘backup’ job, which has been incredibly hard. I feel so aligned and happy working on my business, but a steady paycheck would ease some of the worries.

So how am I handling all this stress? Well, I’m starting by letting go of the extra work. Instead of spending hours trying to sell everything, I’m simply donating the clutter, giving me a clear space and a clearer mind. Cutting out the side tasks has given me back my time and focus to pour into my business—the thing I actually care about and want to grow. 💪 I’m hoping that with this shift, I’ll be able to drive steady income sooner rather than later and won’t have to move forward with another job.

Sometimes, life pushes you out of your comfort zone before you're ready, and it turns out to be exactly what you needed. 💫

I was stuck in a corporate job that left me uninspired and frustrated, working hard but never feeling valued. Even though I knew I wanted to build The Baker's Business Lab full-time, the comfort of a salary kept me from making the leap. My mind was trying to protect me from the fear of failure, embarrassment, and the unknown.

And then, I was fired.

At first, I felt lost and frustrated. But now? I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. This experience pushed me to commit fully to my dreams, to stop hiding behind perfection, and to finally put my energy into the business I love.

So, here’s to stepping into the uncomfortable. I didn’t leave on my own terms, but I’m grateful life intervened to get me here. Now, I’m ready to grow, push myself, and turn this dream into reality. 💪✨
